Mickey Rice Crispy Treats

When I go to the Disney Parks, snacking is the best part!

As soon as you walk onto main street your hit with the smells from the confectionary and it drags you right in! I have so many favorite treats from Disney but my on the go snack is always the Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie treats!

Now if you don't live close to the Disney parks and you wish you could have those special treats every day, well your in luck! I'm going to walk you through step by step on how to make your very own Mickey Rice Krispie treats right in your very home!

Lets get started with what you'll need!

- Box of Rice Krispies Cereal Treats.

- A bag or two of marshmallows (mini or regular size)

- A stick of butter.

- A large Pot.

- A glass container.

- Wax Paper.

- A Mickey shaped cookie cutter.

Optional Materials:

- Chocolate Melts

- Sprinkles

- Fun candy for decorating

- Popsical Sticks

Measurements:

  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • 1 package (10 oz./about 40) JET-PUFFED Marshmallows or 4 cups JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows

  • 6 cups Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal

Directions:

So first you need to melt the butter in a pan (3 tablespoons) on medium heat. Once the butter is melted add Marshmallows. Stir them until they are completely melted. Then turn off the heat. Next you want to add the marshmallow and the Rice Krispies into the same bowl. You want to mix the two together until the cereal is completely coated with the Marshmallow Mixture.

Now that they are all mixed together you want to spoon them into a pan of your choosing. I used a glass pan. Before spooning them into a pan I coated the pan with a sheet of wax paper so it would be easy to take the Rice Krispie treats out! You can also coat the glass pan with butter, but I find the wax paper less messy. After getting all of the Krispie treats into the pan I take a spoon to really smooth over the top layer to get a nice flat surface. From here you want to place the treats into the refrigerator for cooling. I left them in there for about 20 minutes. This is a good time to clean up in between!

Now that there out of the refrigerator, here comes my favorite part... the decorating! I popped the Rice Krispie treats out of the pan and left them sitting on the wax paper. I then took my Mickey shaped cookie cutter and began to cut out the treats.

After I popped out all of the shapes, I began to decorate them! To start decorating first I melted my chocolate melts in the microwave. For this you just need to put them in a separate bowl and heat for about 1 minute until they all melt!

Now you can use the chocolate to decorate the Mickey treats as you like! My favorite is drizzling the chocolate over the treats and then adding sprinkles or candy. To drizzle I just stick a spoon in the melted chocolate and then wave it quickly over the treats. After the chocolate is drizzled I top it with sprinkles or candy like they do in Disney!

Another fun decoration is to dip the treat in chocolate so the front face is completely covered and then dipping it into the sprinkles so it it covered in. I used colors that represent Mickey for these treats, so i went with a lot of red and black!

Finally add that popsicle stick in to make it just like your very own park treat! You'll feel like you just walked out of the confectionary with this perfect treat!

I hope you enjoyed this Do it Yourself Park Snack.
